2007 Honorary Awards

Robert Jelly – Director of Education, Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA)

Robert JellyRobert Jelly studied Accounting and Economics at the University of Strathclyde Glasgow and on graduating in 1972 he joined Touche Ross (now Deloitte) as a trainee Chartered Accountant, and was admitted as a member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland in 1975. A long career in Higher Education was preceded by work with ICI.
Prior to joining CIMA, Robert was Head of Dundee Business School. While at the Business School he worked for the Central Bank of Mauritius and a United Nations sponsored project in Lesotho. He was awarded an MBA from the University of Edinburgh in 1986.
Robert joined CIMA in January 2000. As Director of Education he has worldwide responsibility for maintaining the relevance and differentiation of the CIMA qualification (currently studied by more than 90,000 students) and for the life-long learning of CIMA’s 70,000 members. Robert is also a director of CIMA Enterprise Limited: CIMA’s commercial operations. Robert was awarded an honorary doctorate from Kingston University for his “outstanding contribution to accounting and management education. He is a member of Kingston University Faculty of Business and Law Advisory Board.

Anthony Yates – Chief Executive Solaris Health, founder of PAN Advertising

Anthony Yates graduated from Salford University with BSc Biochemistry in 1975. He was the Associate Director of Publitek Ltd from 1981 to 1992. He then became the Chief Executive of PAN Advertising till 2006, and in 2005 he started his own healthcare communications agency, Solaris Health. Since 2009 Anthony Yates has also been the Chief Executive of Well Advertising.
