John Tiner CBE – Chief Executive of FTSE 100 company Resolution Operations LLP; the first Chief Executive of the Financial Services Authority and Kingston University alumnus
Honorary Doctor of Letters (Hon D Litt)
Mr Tiner was awarded his honorary doctorate in recognition of his achievements in the financial services industry. He studied the Accountancy Foundation at Kingston Business School, graduating in 1976 and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1980. While studying at the Business School, he worked for Arthur Andersen. He joined the city regulatory body, the Financial Services Authority (FSA), in 2001 and became its first chief executive in 2003, spearheading the organisation's leadership of a national strategy to educate consumers about money.
Mr Tiner is a trustee of the British Urological Foundation and a Visiting Fellow at Oxford University Saïd Business School.
