The Power of Normal:  How ideas about what is normal influence behaviour

Drawing on interdisciplinary theory and her research into sustainability, Professor Rettie in her inaugural lecture will explore how behaviour is influenced by understandings of what is normal.

She will talk about how we tend to compare ourselves to people who are similar to ourselves and will discuss how this phenomenon can be used to change behaviour in key areas of importance in today's world.
