Kingston HRM Masters course launches in Russia
Friday 20 January 2012
The Department for Leadership, HRM and Organisation has successfully launched its Masters in International HRM programme at the Academy of National Economy in Moscow in December 2011. The two-year part time programme, accredited by Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), is delivered by Kingston University academics and UK practitioners with some input from Russian colleagues. About 20 HR managers from various local and multi-national companies have joined the programme, including Sberbank, DeltaCredit Bank, Samsung Electronics, Johnson and Johnson, Wrigley, Jansen Capital Management, Hay Group and others.
Georgy Petrov, senior lecturer in Organisational Behaviour and director for the programme, said: ‘This programme is part of our long-term strategic alliance with the Academy of National Economy and builds on success of Kingston MBA and EMBA (currently Russia’s number one ranked MBA) programmes in Russia. The calibre of students is very high as most of them are senior HR managers in their companies with many years of professional experience but no formal HR qualification. Therefore, this programme, one of the first to be offered in this country, is very important to the workforce as it gives local HR managers the chance to gain industry qualification from CIPD and internationally recognised academic qualification from Kingston. We are very pleased to be expanding our Kingston offering in Moscow and hope that the programme is great success.’

Some excellent reviews from the students:
Artem Maximov, Gazpromneft, St. Petersburg, Russia, Head of Recruiting Department
"First of all I’d like to thank both RANE and Kingston University. Your professional approach has impressed me a lot, I had a chance to evaluate this program in terms of up-to-date knowledge, and more in terms of it’s delivery in the class. It’s only a first module and I still can’t experience it to the end, and I hope it will all work in my practice. But now my impression is more than positive. Keep up the good work!. Thank you!"
Oxana Sergeeva, DeltaCreditBank, Moscow, Russia, Head of T&D Center
"The quality of teachers is very high both from Kingston side and from RANE side. Guest speakers were very specific, gave many practical examples, some I could even put down for my further reference. In terms of program management - it’s nice that we have the Study Space portal, where all the materials are available and we can get well prepared for our studies. As a matter of fact, the most important thing is that I’m highly motivated to rush tomorrow to my workplace and start putting the class ideas into life. To my mind this is the main value for me personally gained at the module. Thanks!"
Alina Krytina, Consulting company Jansen Capital Management, Ukraine, Project Manager
"A vast amount of information and fresh ideas! It’s is important that the information we get is well structured. What I was piecing together, those crumbs of knowledge at my work place, found in the CIPD textbook published several years ago. Amazing… Very interesting people around, my experience is widening and I feel like absorbing new things. The group – I fell in love with it. I would like to continue studying at the program, come to know fresh ideas, balance between theory and practice and develop myself. The attention and warm welcome from the administration are gorgeous. Many thanks."
Liudmila Kazimirova, SGS Vostok Limited (SGS Group), Moscow, Russia, HR Regional Manager, EEME
"Apart from what my colleagues have already mentioned, I’d like to add that for me personally the most valuable was the combination of academic knowledge, practical examples from the speakers and moreover – the group discussions, meaning the group participants, my colleagues here. All of them are experienced professionals, whom I could share my ideas with, have discussions and merge theory with practice. The case discussion, group work, analytical work – all were interesting. We have been presented certain techniques, practices that made me use my brain in a different way, and come to interesting decisions. Good luck to you, to your program, and hope everything will be super. Thank you."
