Business School Professor calls on Minister of Health to implement cost-effective HPV vaccination for boys
Tuesday 12 July 2016
Professor Giampiero Favato of Kingston University's Business School has delivered a letter to the Minister of Health, published in The Times, from clinicians, scientists and academics arguing for the extension of the national HPV vaccination programme to include adolescent boys.
Professor Favato established the cost-effectiveness of gender-neutral vaccinations, which have been shown to reduce the incidence of life-threatening cancers.
This work follows previous research presented by the professor to the Italian Agency for Drug Approval (AIFA), which subsequently changed its policy for HPV vaccinations, approving the programme for males.
