Kingston University offers Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) exemptions for new degree courses

Friday 10 November 2017

Kingston Business School has achieved CIMA exemptions for three of the new format degree courses which include business experience (Accounting and Finance, Business Management and International Business).

This means students on the Accounting and Finance degrees will be exempt from all the certificate exams, half the diploma exams and potentially half the advanced diploma exams.

In addition, students from both the Business Management and International Business degrees can gain exemption from one exam at each of the certificate, diploma and advanced diploma levels. Business Management students studying managerial accounting will also gain an additional exemption at certificate level.

Associate Professor in the School of Business Dr Julie Cottingham said: "I'm so pleased that we are able to provide more professional body exemptions for our Accounting and Finance students. Professional exemptions help the employability of our students, and this is at the heart of our ‘with business experience’ degrees. It is also great that we were able to extend some of these exemptions to two of our other business degrees."
