Dr Nick Wilson
MA(Cantab); MBA; PGCertHE; PhD Principal Lecturer - Full Time Strategy, Marketing and Entrepreneurship Room KH-01 Kenry House Kingston University Kingston Hill Kingston Upon Thames Surrey KT2 7LB Biography Nick is Course Director of the University's innovative Programme of Master's courses in the Creative Economy (see www.ourcreativeeconomy.com). Nick studied music at Clare College, Cambridge and went on to train as a singer at the Royal College of Music, London and the Hochschule der Künste, Berlin, before moving into music management, working for a leading artist management and concert promotions company. After completing his MBA, Nick joined the Small Business Research Centre, Kingston University as a researcher and lecturer, subsequently completing his doctoral thesis on the emergence of the early music performance labour market in the UK. Expertise Nick has undertaken a range of research and consultancy projects focusing on the creative industries and the creative economy. Key research projects have included commissioned work for the DCMS, Arts Council of England, and the LDA. Nick is co-author of 'Small Business Management & Entrepreneurship', published by CENGAGE. Research Interests
Current research interests include developing critical realist theories of entrepreneurship, creativity, innovation and related social processes, and the development of multi-disciplinary learning in creativity and management. Teaching In addition to teaching entrepreneurship across many courses, Nick teaches two of the core modules on the MA Creative Economy (The Creative Economy, and Managing Creativity and Innovation).
