Director of the Decision, Attitude, Risk and Thinking Research Group which gathered 25+ experts from different disciplines (e.g., psychology, sociology, geography).
Information about the DART Research group and our activities.
I have a MSc and a PhD in Experimental Psychology from the University of Toulouse (France).
Expert in how people communicate and perceive risk and uncertainty. I am for example working on how people perceive risks of drug side effects. I have also a good command related to individual differences that explain variations in reasoning and decision-making performances (e.g., thinking style, personality, cognitive reflection).
Broadly, my research aims to gain a better understanding of the the factors affecting risk perception and decision making (e.g., how people understand probabilistic forecasts; how HR managers make personnel selection decisions). Additionally, I am interested in how individual differences account for variations in risk perception and decision making quality (e.g., investigating whether decision making styles predict decision making quality).
Topics I am interested in supervising:
- Individual differences and decision-making quality (e.g., how personality predicts decision-making quality);
- Discriminations at work and how to prevent them;
- How to attract and retain volunteers in charitable organisations;
- Behavioural change via email communication;
- The role of acculturation for expats;
- Strategies to solve inter-groups conflict;
- Decision-making in social work and healt care professionals;
- Engagement, job satisfaction, retention, and co.
It can also be useful to know that I have a preference for quantitative methods.
I am leading the module "Investigating a business issue" at PG level.
I am also the Course Director of the Undergraduate Diploma in Professional Practice for Business and Law UG students.
