Biography

Marvyn is a Lecturer in Marketing in the Department of Strategy, Marketing and Innovation. His teaching expertise is in the areas of marketing principles and practice, market research, and business research methods and data analysis (qualitative and quantitative).

His research interests are in brand positioning, consumer behaviour, decoy / attraction effect, and the impact of context on brand perceptions. Marvyn’s work has been presented at International, peer-reviewed conferences including the International Conference of Contemporary Marketing Issues (ICCMI), and the Academy of Marketing Science (AMS) World Marketing Congress.

Background

Marvyn obtained a Bachelor degree at Midwestern State University (Texas, USA), an MBA at the University of North Texas (Texas, USA), an MSc in Business Research and a PhD in Marketing at Kingston Business School (London, UK).

Marvyn joins Kingston with extensive international experience in sales and marketing with organisations including IBM Caribbean (Bryden and Minors), and Arrow Ford Automotive in North Texas. He also consults on number of projects with established organisations, such as MOBO and the British and Irish Modern Music Institute (BIMM), and innovative start-ups such as Signeer, London.
