The Small Business Research Centre

Established in 1987, the Small Business Research Centre (SBRC) is one of the leading research groups in the UK in the field of small business and entrepreneurship. We have developed a growing international reputation, based on an extensive portfolio of research and consultancy, both in the UK and overseas. The current research and recently completed projects undertaken by the Centre are summarised in our Annual Report for 2011. We are also home to the International Small Business Journal, one of the most reputable academic journals on small business and entrepreneurship.

2011 has been a busy year in the SBRC. Six externally funded projects were started in 2011 and others also continued. Over 30 research outputs of various types were published by our nine research staff. These publications included seven peer-reviewed journal articles, eight book chapters, one book, 11 conference papers, and three research reports.
